SINGAPORE ~ Fort Canning Centre ~

... Fort Canning Hill, originally known as Bukit Larangan (or "Forbidden Hill” in Malay) has been a local landmark in the city since Singapore's earliest recorded history... I already received a postcard of this site showing The Battle Box museum that explains the military reasons behind "the worst disaster and largest capitulation in British military history"... Thanks a lot Jobbo!!【ツ】

From backside postcard:
In the late 1920's, the British built an Army Headquarters on Fort Canning Hill. They also built a barracks to complement it, and in the 1930's an underground command centre to protects its genaral staff from air raids. Today, the barracks lives on as The Fort Canning Centre, and the underground command centre is a museum called the Battlebox.

This building has been beautifully restored and now stands as Hotel Fort Canning, a boutique hotel.
